꩜ Plant spirits for the thresholds of life ꩜

Welcome to the apothecary, a living collection of herbal preparations, ritual objects, plant-spirit experiences, and private containers created to accompany you through the changing seasons of your body and life.

Here, the plants are not treated as ingredients alone.

They are kin. Teachers. Elders. Witnesses. Plantcestors who have lived beside humanity for generations, offering nourishment, beauty, protection, remembrance, and companionship through every threshold.

Rootmother Apothecary was created for those longing to come back into relationship with their bodies and the living world. Each offering is an invitation to slow down, listen inward, and remember that caring for yourself can be a devotional practice.

Made for Relationship

We do not create products to convince you that your body is broken.

We create offerings that invite you to become more intimate with your body…its waters, rhythms, boundaries, desires, grief, cycles, tenderness, and changing needs.

Our preparations are made to become part of the rituals that hold your life:

The oil you reach for before bed.

The balm you massage into your womb space.

The herbs you bring into the bath.

The tea you drink while sitting at your altar.

The ritual box you open when grief has left you without words.

The plants that accompany you into the inner landscapes of your own becoming.

The apothecary is a place to be met

Our Process

Every Rootmother offering begins by listening.

We listen to the plants, to the purpose of the formula, and to the threshold it is being created to accompany. Our offerings are not built around fleeting wellness trends or made only because an ingredient has become popular.

Each plant is chosen because of its character, its traditional relationship with the body, and the particular kind of care it brings to the formula.

Our herbs are sourced organically and locally whenever available. Botanical oils, roots, flowers, resins, mineral salts, broad-spectrum C B D, and other materials are selected with attention to quality, integrity, and the experience of using the finished offering.

Slowly infused

Many of our preparations require time.

Herbs are allowed to steep into oils rather than being rushed. Formulas are created in intentional batches. Textures, aromas, and combinations are considered so that each offering feels nourishing not only in its ingredients, but in the way it meets your senses.

This slow process allows us to remain close to the materials and to the spirit of what we are creating.

Ceremonially crafted

Ceremony is woven into the making of our ritual offerings.

The space is prepared. Intention is placed into the formula. The plants are acknowledged. Each batch is made with presence, prayer, gratitude, and respect for the many hands, lands, waters, and relationships that made it possible.

Ceremonial crafting does not mean that every item will look exactly identical.

Plants change from harvest to harvest. Natural colors deepen and soften. Aromas shift. Handmade offerings carry the beauty of their materials and the human hands that created them.

Each batch is alive with its own season.

Made in small batches

Small-batch making allows us to pay attention.

It means we can stay connected to the plants, preserve the intimacy of the process, and create offerings that feel cared for from the beginning of the formulation to the moment they reach your hands.

This is not anonymous mass production.

It is an apothecary practice built through relationship.

Rooted in More Than a Decade of Herbal Craft

Rootmother Apothecary grew from many years of working with folk herbalism, botanical body care, cannabis, ritual, postpartum tending, womb care, grief work, and plant-spirit practice.

Before becoming Rootmother, this body of work lived through Akasha Apothecary, a community-rooted herbal and C B D apothecary founded with a devotion to creating beautiful, trustworthy plant offerings.

In 2021, our work was recognized as the Best C B D Product in Santa Cruz County.

We are proud of that recognition, but what matters most is what has remained unchanged throughout every evolution of the apothecary: the love of the plants and the desire to help people return to themselves.

Rootmother is the deeper unfolding of that original seed.

It carries forward the formulas, knowledge, relationships, and years of experience that came before it, while making room for a fuller expression of ritual, grief tending, threshold care, and plant-spirit medicine.
