A guided journey into your inner landscape, with the plants as companions
Plant Spirit Guided Meditation is a 90-minute private journey into the inner world a space of memory, imagination, intuition, sensation, symbolism, and deep listening.
During the session, you will be gently guided into a relaxed, receptive state and invited to explore your inner landscape with the plants as your companions. Rather than choosing a plant in advance or directing the experience toward a predetermined outcome, we allow the journey to unfold in its own way.
Different plants may appear for different people. A familiar herb, flower, tree, fruit, root, or unexpected botanical presence may arise through imagery, sensation, memory, emotion, color, sound, or intuitive knowing. Sometimes a plant arrives clearly. Other times, the experience is subtle—a scent remembered, a landscape forming, a feeling in the body, or a symbol that becomes meaningful over time.
No two sessions are the same.
The plant that meets you may offer comfort, reflection, protection, perspective, or a new way of understanding what you are moving through. You do not need any previous experience with meditation, herbalism, visualization, or plant-spirit work. There is no pressure to “see” anything or have a dramatic experience. The practice is rooted in curiosity rather than performance.
This session may be supportive during seasons of:
Grief, transition, or uncertainty
Creative or spiritual exploration
Reconnection with intuition
Identity shifts and personal transformation
Feeling disconnected from yourself or the natural world
Seeking rest, grounding, clarity, or companionship
Deepening an existing relationship with plants
This is not a psychic reading, medical treatment, or promise that a particular plant or message will appear. It is a guided contemplative and ceremonial experience that creates space for your own inner wisdom and relationship with the living world.
What to Expect
We will begin with a gentle conversation about what is bringing you to the session, how you are arriving that day, and anything you would like me to be aware of before we begin.
You are welcome to name an intention for the journey, but an intention is not required. You may arrive with a specific question, a life transition you are tending, or simply a desire to listen.
From there, you will be guided into a comfortable, grounded state through breath, sensory awareness, and body-based invitations. I will then lead you into an inner landscape where you may encounter a plant presence or allow the journey to unfold without expectation.
Throughout the meditation, you remain in control of your experience. You may open your eyes, change positions, speak, pause, skip a prompt, or end the meditation at any time.
All prompts are invitations, never requirements.
You will never be asked to force an image, revisit a painful memory, disclose personal information, or move beyond what feels supportive. If visualization does not come naturally to you, you can engage through sensations, words, emotions, sounds, memories, or simply the feeling of resting and listening.
After the guided journey, we will take time to slowly return, reflect, and integrate. You may share as much or as little as you wish. Together, we can explore the symbols, plants, emotions, or insights that arose without assigning a fixed meaning to your experience.
The session generally includes:
An opening check-in and intention-setting
Grounding and nervous-system settling
A guided inner-landscape meditation
Space to encounter or listen for a plant guide
A gradual return and reorientation
Reflection, witnessing, and integration
Suggestions for continuing the relationship after the session
A Trauma-Informed Approach
These sessions are facilitated through a trauma-informed lens. Your autonomy, choice, pacing, and boundaries are central to the experience.
You are the authority on your body and your inner world.
I may offer invitations to notice your breath, sense your body, imagine a landscape, approach a plant, or receive a message. You are always free to modify, decline, or move away from any invitation. There is no expectation that you remain still, close your eyes, share your experience, or complete the meditation in a particular way.
We will not interpret your journey as having one universal or definitive meaning. Any insight that emerges belongs to you, and you decide what feels true, useful, or relevant.
This practice is intended to support reflection, spiritual connection, creativity, and personal ritual. It does not replace psychotherapy, medical care, or crisis support.
How to Prepare
Choose a quiet, private place where you are unlikely to be interrupted for the full 90 minutes. Give yourself a little time before the session to arrive without rushing and, when possible, avoid scheduling something demanding immediately afterward.
Create a comfortable place where you can sit, recline, or lie down. You are welcome to move or change positions during the session.
You may wish to bring:
A blanket and pillows
Water or a warm cup of herbal tea
A journal and pen
An eye covering, if closing your eyes feels comfortable
Headphones for online sessions
A meaningful object for your altar or nearby space
A living plant, dried herb, flower, leaf, or bowl of water
These items are optional. You do not need to purchase anything or prepare an elaborate ceremonial space.
Before the session:
Eat something light enough that you feel comfortable and nourished.
Avoid arriving intoxicated or under the influence of substances that may significantly alter your awareness.
Wear clothing that allows you to breathe and rest comfortably.
Consider silencing notifications and letting anyone nearby know that you should not be disturbed.
Reflect on what you may want support with, while leaving space for the unexpected.
You may come with a question such as:
What am I being invited to tend?
What is asking to be released?
What kind of support do I need in this season?
How can I deepen my relationship with the plants?
What part of myself is ready to be heard?
You may also come without a question. Your presence is enough.
After the Session
Plant-spirit journeys can continue unfolding after the meditation has ended. A symbol, plant, feeling, or message may become clearer through dreams, journaling, time in nature, or quiet reflection.
After your session, consider giving yourself space to move slowly. Drink water, eat something grounding, rest, take a gentle walk, or write down what you remember before analyzing it.
You may feel peaceful, emotional, energized, tired, spacious, curious, or unchanged. There is no correct response. Subtle experiences are still meaningful, and not every session needs to produce an immediate revelation.
You may be invited to continue building a relationship with the plant through research, drawing, prayer, observation, tea, gardening, or time spent with the plant itself. Any physical use of an herb should be approached separately and with attention to allergies, medications, pregnancy, medical conditions, and appropriate professional guidance. A plant appearing in meditation is not automatically a recommendation to ingest it.

A generous collection of handcrafted herbal care for the sacred weeks after birth
Investment: $425
San Francisco pickup available
The Rootmother Postpartum Care Package is a deeply nourishing collection of handcrafted herbal preparations created to surround a new mother with warmth, tenderness, beauty, and practical care during the postpartum season.
The early weeks after birth can be profoundly tender. A mother is recovering physically, adjusting emotionally, learning the rhythms of her baby, and often giving nearly all of her attention to the needs of someone else. This package is an invitation for care to flow toward her, too.
Each preparation offers a simple ritual of tending: warm baths, mineral-rich soaks, botanical oils, grounding nourishment, abdominal warmth, and quiet moments of reconnection with the body.
This is not simply a box of products. It is a complete postpartum care experience designed to help make rest, touch, warmth, nourishment, and ritual more accessible during a time when even the smallest act of self-care can require support.
The package may be purchased by:
Expecting or newly postpartum mothers
Partners, family members, and caregivers
Friends creating a postpartum care circle
Postpartum doulas supporting private clients
Birth doulas offering continuity of care after birth
Midwives assembling postpartum resources
Birth workers seeking a meaningful client gift
Community organizations supporting new families
Each package is formulated by Amaya Rose, folk herbalist and postpartum doula, with organic ingredients that are locally sourced whenever seasonally and practically available.
What Is Included
Three Postpartum Womb Steam Blends
Three individually portioned herbal blends created for an optional postpartum steam ritual later in the recovery process.
Each blend is intended to offer a quiet ceremonial moment of warmth, privacy, and reconnection with the pelvic and womb space. The ritual may be approached as a time for listening, reflection, prayer, grief tending, transition, or honoring the body after birth.
Postpartum steaming is not intended for immediate use after birth. It should not be used while bleeding, during active wound or incision healing, with infection, fever, pelvic pain, prolapse symptoms, or without clearance from the mother’s licensed medical or midwifery provider.
Instructions and contraindications are included.
Two Botanical Body Oils
The package includes two separate body oils: one created for the mother and one created for gentle infant touch.
Botanical Body Oil for Mama
A rich, slow-infused body oil created to support intentional touch, massage, and reconnection with the postpartum body.
The oil may be used on the shoulders, arms, legs, feet, hips, lower back, belly, or other areas that would welcome gentle touch. It can become part of a daily body-care ritual or be applied by a partner, caregiver, or doula during a period of rest.
Rather than asking the body to quickly “return” to what it was before pregnancy, this oil offers another invitation: to meet the postpartum body with gratitude, patience, tenderness, and reverence.
Avoid direct application to incisions, open wounds, irritated skin, nipples before feeding, or areas where the baby’s mouth will make contact.
Gentle Body Oil for Baby
A simple, fragrance-free botanical oil formulated separately for gentle infant massage and bonding.
It may be used sparingly for intentional touch after a patch test and with the baby’s pediatric provider’s guidance. Baby massage can become a quiet ritual of warmth, presence, connection, and communication between baby and caregiver.
The baby oil is formulated without essential oils or added fragrance.
Herbal Salve
A multipurpose botanical salve for external body care.
The salve may be applied to dry hands, elbows, feet, knees, and other areas needing a little additional protection and moisture. It is especially useful for mothers and caregivers whose hands may become dry from frequent washing during the newborn period.
The salve offers a practical form of daily care that can be kept beside the bed, changing station, nursing chair, or bathroom sink.
Not intended for internal use, open wounds, infected skin, or direct application to the nipples immediately before feeding.
Four Sea Salt Soaks
Four individually portioned mineral soaks created for moments of rest and release.
Each soak can be added to a full bath or used as a foot soak when a full bath is not accessible or appropriate. Warm water, salt, and aromatic herbs help transform ordinary bathing into a small ritual of being held.
A caregiver can prepare the soak, bring the mother water or tea, care for the baby, and create the conditions for her to rest without needing to organize the experience herself.
These soaks are especially beautiful for:
Evening wind-down rituals
Tired feet
Quiet time after a long day
Moments of sensory grounding
Reconnecting with the body
Receiving care from a partner or doula
Bathing should begin only when medically appropriate following birth and after receiving guidance regarding tears, incisions, bleeding, and infection risk.
Three Herbal Bath Blends
Three generous herbal bath preparations designed to create an immersive botanical bathing ritual.
The herbs can be steeped before being added to the bath, allowing the mother to be surrounded by warm water and the sensory presence of the plants. Each bath can become a ceremony for rest, release, gratitude, grief, transition, or simply being alone with oneself.
The bath blends may also be prepared as concentrated herbal infusions for an external compress or foot bath when full-body bathing is not appropriate.
These baths do not need to be elaborate. A dim room, warm water, a cup of tea, and twenty uninterrupted minutes can be enough.
Herbal Ghee
A nourishing jar of traditionally inspired herbal ghee created as a simple way to bring warmth and richness into postpartum meals.
The ghee may be added to warm grains, soups, rice, vegetables, toast, broths, or other meals already familiar to the mother. It is designed to make everyday nourishment feel more intentional without requiring complicated preparation during the newborn period.
Postpartum nourishment should be comforting, accessible, and easy to receive. The herbal ghee allows a caregiver, partner, or doula to enrich simple meals with an additional layer of care.
A complete ingredient list and storage instructions are included. The recipient should review the ingredients for allergies, dietary restrictions, medication interactions, and individual postpartum considerations before use.
Eight-Ounce Herbal Elixir Powder
An eight-ounce jar of herbal elixir powder created to make warm, grounding drinks easy to prepare.
The powder can be blended into warm water or another preferred beverage according to the included instructions. It offers the mother a daily ritual that does not require extensive measuring, steeping, or cleanup.
A caregiver can prepare the elixir while making breakfast, bringing a feeding snack, or settling the mother into bed. It can also become a gentle pause in the day: a warm cup held between both hands, a breath, and a moment to receive.
The formula is accompanied by a full ingredient list and usage instructions. Because postpartum needs differ—especially during breastfeeding or when medications are involved—the recipient should review the formula with an appropriate healthcare professional before use.
Infused Castor Oil
A bottle of infused castor oil for external ritual and body-care use.
The oil may be incorporated into a slow abdominal self-massage or used as part of a warming castor-oil ritual after the body has had adequate time to heal and the mother has received provider clearance.
It is not intended for use during pregnancy, on fresh incisions, over open wounds, during active infection, or during the immediate postpartum recovery period without individualized guidance.
Hot Water Bottle
A reusable hot water bottle is included to bring warmth into the mother’s care space.
It may be used over clothing or wrapped in a towel for comfort on the back, shoulders, feet, or other areas that feel soothed by gentle warmth. The bottle can also warm the bed before rest or become part of a quiet evening ritual.
The hot water bottle should never be filled with boiling water or placed directly against bare skin. It should not be used over areas with reduced sensation, active inflammation, fresh incisions, or while sleeping.
A Gift for the Mother Who Is Often Forgotten
New babies are often welcomed with clothing, blankets, toys, and supplies. The mother, however, may receive far less attention once the birth has taken place.
This package keeps the mother at the center of postpartum care.
It acknowledges that she has also crossed a threshold. Her body has labored, opened, changed, birthed, grieved, transformed, or undergone surgery. Her nervous system is adapting to interrupted sleep, constant touch, new responsibility, hormonal change, and the emotional magnitude of caring for a new life.
The package cannot replace hands-on support, nourishing meals, medical care, sleep, or community. It can, however, provide tangible tools that help caregivers create small, repeatable experiences of warmth and attention.
The baby is also nourished when the mother is surrounded by care. A supported mother may have more opportunities to rest, eat, hydrate, receive loving touch, and bond with her baby without carrying every responsibility alone.
For Doulas, Midwives and Caregivers
The Rootmother Postpartum Care Package is available to doulas, midwives, birth workers, caregivers, and community organizations wishing to incorporate handcrafted herbal care into their client support.
The package may be:
Given as a complete postpartum gift
Added to a doula care package
Included in a premium postpartum service
Used throughout several weeks of in-home support
Shared among members of a postpartum care circle
Purchased for a baby shower or mother blessing
Offered to clients recovering from birth-related transitions
The package includes clear instructions so caregivers can help prepare each ritual without placing additional labor on the mother.
Wholesale, practitioner, and multiple-package inquiries may be available separately.
Ingredients and Sourcing
Every package is made in small batches with attention to freshness, quality, seasonality, and relationship with the plants.
Ingredients are:
Organic
Locally sourced when seasonally and practically available
Selected with postpartum tenderness in mind
Clearly labeled with complete ingredient lists
Accompanied by preparation and storage instructions
Because every postpartum body, birth experience, baby, medication regimen, and feeding journey is different, formulas may be adjusted when possible for known allergies or sensitivities.
Customization must be requested before the package is prepared.
Pickup and Delivery
The Rootmother Postpartum Care Package is available for:
San Francisco pickup
Local San Francisco delivery
Delivery can be scheduled for the final weeks of pregnancy, shortly after the birth, or at another agreed-upon time. Gift purchasers may include a personal message for the recipient.
Advance ordering is recommended because each package is prepared in small batches.
Important Care Note
This package offers complementary herbal, ceremonial, and body-care support. It is not a replacement for postpartum medical care, pediatric care, lactation support, mental-health care, or emergency services.
The recipient should consult their licensed healthcare or midwifery provider before using internal herbs, vaginal or pelvic practices, abdominal preparations, heat, baths, or products near wounds and incisions.
All topical products should be patch-tested before broader use. Infant products should be reviewed with the baby’s pediatric provider, kept away from the face and hands, and discontinued if irritation occurs.
You may be the person everyone depends on.
The strong one
The one who looks like they have it all together
The one who has to fragment and compartmentalize parts of themselves just to get through…but underneath the layers lies a wealth of untended grief
You fear that if you dare start to peel back the layers you will drown in an ocean of tears, be swallowed whole by your rage, and collapse inside of the disappointment
I am here to tell you. That all of you is welcome here.
Your grief, your anger, your sadness, your confusion, your disappointment, your joy
Inside of the grief nest you are held with depth, presence and compassion. You are witnessed in your wholeness as you cross the thresholds of transformation.
We must allow ourselves to build a relationship with our grief
You are highly capable, deeply intuitive and accustomed to carrying more than others realize. You are the one tending to others needs before your own.
Perhaps you have built a life that looks beautiful from the outside while something inside you is asking to be witnessed.
Perhaps conventional wellness spaces have felt too clinical, too polished, too rushed or unable to hold the spiritual dimensions, emotional depth, complexity and nuance of what you are moving through.
Here, you are not a problem to solve. There is nothing to fix.
When we welcome the alchemical process of grief to break our hearts wide open by allowing ourselves to completely dissolved and made into a new form.
I just ask that you stay willing. Willing to stay present with yourself through all that arises. Knowing that you are being held in this sacred space by your ancestors, the plant spirits, the earth and by someone who has sat at the wellspring of sorrow and come out the other side more whole, more joyful and an integrated and embodied life where grief is not something to be feared or hidden but is welcomed like an old friend.
Meet your practitioner
For almost a decade, I have worked with herbs, ritual goods, community care and practices that accompany people through profound change. My approach is trauma-informed, spiritually grounded and shaped by the understanding that healing is relational: connected to our bodies, our ancestors, our communities, the land and the conditions in which we live.
I create containers where tenderness and truth can exist together.

꩜ Client Reviews ꩜
"Amaya holds an immensely powerful container during plant spirit sessions. These sessions transmit plant medicine to a degree I have not regularly witnessed. This is a true calling. I am beyond grateful to experience and receive her plant magic"
~ Hannah, Santa Cruz, CA "Amaya's close relationship to plant guides benefited me greatly during a time of pain and confusion. She was able to call on allies and intuit what was needed for each session, coaching me through what we were doing and why. This ranged but consistently incorporated the use of medicinal plants. Through this work I have gained a stronger connection with the plant guides around me every day and feel heard and supported both by Amaya and the outside world.
I highly recommend Amaya's services to anyone looking to learn more about themselves, their connection to our plant family, and how that connection can benefit your life greatly."
"I feel like the session has been infusing… first of all it was such a great eye opener with regards to how sensitive my nervous system is and how this has to be my main health focus (checking how my nerves are and softening back into relaxed mode). I've made the rose oil but haven't used it yet, it's been infusing and it took me some time to make. I'll be able to use it soon. I sourced gorgeous rose buds, and have been drinking the tea as well. Not every day but whenever I felt the need or calling. I also introduced some friends to the rose, we drank the tea together, it was their first time drinking rose tea and they found it really pleasing. One major thing that has happened since our session is that I launched my herbal business - I found the strength to reveal myself, put myself naked in front of all. I feel my boundaries have greatly strengthened. I don't feel as vulnerable as I did a few months ago when we had our session. I have the rose and yourself to thank for this."
