꩜ The Grief Nest ꩜
A seasonal ceremonial container for the grief that has changed you.
Some grief cannot be tended in passing.
It needs time. Warmth. Ritual. Privacy. Time. A witness who will not hurry you, fear the depth of what you carry or ask you to make your experience easier to understand.
The Grief Nest is a private ceremonial container held across one year through 4 ~ 120-minute sessions or 1 each season.
Together, we create space for witness, ritual, remembrance and integration supported by a personalized Grief Nest Ritual Box created for your continued tending between sessions
1 year - 4 ~ 120-minute sessions live sessions · Personalized ritual box · Folk herbalism practices and teachings ~ $1,399
You do not have to hold everything alone here.
Tending to our grief
As human beings, we have moved far away from the practice of bringing our grief to the altar. We have been taught to hide it, intellectualize it, rush through it, or carry it alone. At Root Mother, we believe that unprocessed grief and stagnant emotion are like a river that has been dammed. When grief is not given movement, witness, or ritual, there is a greater potential for us to remain inside of experiences for far longer than we have to.
Grief is a great time traveler. It can carry us back to the moments when parts of ourselves became frozen, fragmented, abandoned, or lost. Through ritual, we return not to remain in the past, but to alchemize what happened, make peace with what cannot be changed, and call the lost parts of ourselves home.

The Seasonal Arc
We will meet for 4 live 2 hour sessions throughout 1 year or 13 moons. In between the live sessions you will have invitational practices each month that you can work with at home. Each season there will be different theme and each season builds on the next.
Season 1
Arrival and Witness
We name the threshold you are standing within and begin creating the ceremonial container.
This session offers space for your grief to arrive without being hurried, analyzed or made more comfortable for anyone else.
You will learn folk herbalism basics for how to work with herbs during times of transition. Beginning to build relationships with plant spirits, altar creation, and offerings.
Season 2
Relationship and Ritual
We explore how grief is living within your memories, body, relationships, home and inner world.
Together, we create practices of remembrance, expression or ritual that feel personal rather than prescribed.
During this season you will learn how to craft different herbal preparations, teas, baths, oils, essences, and how to work with them during seasons of grief.
Season 3
Deepening into Practice
We work with what has come up in the first 2 seasons, all of the plant preparations, and begin to deepen the grief nesting practices in nature
During this season you will be working each month with your herbal preparations, and ritual practices that you have created. You will be learning about your ancestry and bringing in a practice from your linage into your grief nest practice.
Season 4
Integration and Continuation
We gather what has emerged and create a way for the work to continue beyond our work together. You will have build a beautiful foundation for yourself with many tools to work with during times of transition.
This is our closing ceremony together. It is an opportunity to honor what has shifted and establish practices for ongoing tending.
This is a year to devote to the care of your inner world, to your grief, and to make space for the remembrance of wisdom and relationship.
You don't have to know exactly what this year will hold, or have the right words yet for what you're grieving.
This is a container that moves with the seasons, one gathering each season, four points across a full turn of the year. You don't need to arrive at every session with the same grief, or even a resolved sense of what you're carrying. You can come as you are, each time.
If you're still wondering whether your loss "counts," whether enough time has passed, or whether you should just handle it alone, that's okay. You don't have to be falling apart to show up. You don't have to explain or justify why you need support. You don't have to arrive at any single session ready to release the past; there will be another season, and another chance to sit with it. Throughout the year you'll gather tools and build relationship with plants, ancestors, and yourself, so that as grief continues to move through your life, you're able to meet it with care, compassion, and ritual.
All that's asked is that you notice something in you is asking for care.
You deserve to be witnessed, again and again as the year turns. You deserve a space where you don't have to be the strong one. And across these four seasons, you deserve to reconnect with grief as something ancestral and shared, so sorrow can be honored without becoming the only thing shaping what comes next.

Amaya Rose
I hold grief as a sacred threshold, something that is not meant to be rushed, fixed, pathologized, or carried alone.
My role is not to take grief away, but to help create a vessel strong enough for it to move. I tend the waters of the emotional body with reverence, patience, and deep listening, honoring the truth that grief has its own timing, intelligence, and alchemical process.
My work weaves together ritual grief tending, folk herbalism, plant spirit medicine, shadow work, ancestral connection, and guided inner landscape journeying. The plants are not simply tools within this work. They are companions, witnesses, teachers, and plantcestors who have walked beside human beings through loss, transition, death, birth, rupture, and rebirth for millennia.
Within the Grief Nest, we may work with tea, smoke, oils, baths, flower essences, prayer, sound, altar tending, and plant-guided meditation. These practices help us soften what has become hardened, bring movement to what has stagnated, and listen for what the grief itself is asking us to remember.
Grief often carries us into the inner landscapes of the self to the places where lost parts, forgotten gifts, ancestral stories, buried emotions, and unfinished experiences may still be waiting. I hold space for you to journey inward, meet what is there, and return with the wisdom, medicine, and pieces of yourself that are ready to come home.
This work honors wholeness. You are not broken because you are grieving. Your grief is not proof that something is wrong with you. It is evidence that you have loved, lived, lost, survived, and been changed.
Through ceremony, grief becomes more than something we endure. It can become a portal for remembrance, reconciliation, transformation, and the reclamation of what was once lost.
꩜ Client Reviews ꩜
"I've been enjoying using a yoni steam (I made one about a week after we spoke). It's helped create a safe and nurturing ritual to celebrate and give thanks to all that my body does.
Mugwort has felt like a crone/child spirit that has helped me to confront my past womb traumas. I've felt this presence of a healing crone woman who guides me to confront the importance of solid boundaries, and a child-like presence that brings delight and celebration of the sacredness of the body.
This session was much needed. It offered an opportunity to confront some much needed healing that otherwise I don't know if I would have confronted. And the use of mugwort, the yoni steam, rose, has brought comfort and wisdom along the path.
Thank you for doing what you do!"

"I feel like the session has been infusing… first of all it was such a great eye opener with regards to how sensitive my nervous system is and how this has to be my main health focus (checking how my nerves are and softening back into relaxed mode). I've made the rose oil but haven't used it yet, it's been infusing and it took me some time to make. I'll be able to use it soon. I sourced gorgeous rose buds, and have been drinking the tea as well. Not every day but whenever I felt the need or calling. I also introduced some friends to the rose, we drank the tea together, it was their first time drinking rose tea and they found it really pleasing. One major thing that has happened since our session is that I launched my herbal business - I found the strength to reveal myself, put myself naked in front of all. I feel my boundaries have greatly strengthened. I don't feel as vulnerable as I did a few months ago when we had our session. I have the rose and yourself to thank for this."

Do I need experience with ceremony?
2
No. Every practice is explained, and all invitations are optional. You do not need to follow a particular spiritual tradition or know any ceremonial language. Ritual is universal.
Do I have to talk about everything that happened?
3
No. You choose what you share. Silence, writing, plant connection, altar work and creative practices can offer other ways of being with grief.
